Reimagining Our Worship Together

Reimagining Our Worship Together

The Rev. Jane McDougle, D.M.A., will invite us into an exploration of music from traditional to contemporary in which all can be engaged and spiritually nourished.

May 16, Saturday Workshop: 1:00pm to 5:00pm
May 17, Sunday Worship Service: 10:00am
The Rev. Jane McDougle, D.M.A., is currently serving (since 2012) as Vicar at Holy innocents Episcopal Church, San Francisco. Prior to that, she served at St. Bede’s Episcopal Church, Menlo Park, as Director of Music from 1992, and additionally from 2005, as associate priest. She also taught class music in Trinity School
Episcopal from 1992-2010. She received her Master of Divinity and Theology from the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in 2005, and has a Doctorate in Musical Arts (1989), from Stanford University, specializing in early vocal music.
Jane is passionate about a number of things, including liturgy. As both priest and musician, she cares a great deal about all the elements that make for a spiritually enriching liturgy for as many participants as possible. Her tastes in church music range from chant to contemporary, with the one stipulation that it is ‘good’. Simply sappy, happy or clappy is not good enough, although meaningful, joyous music that makes you want to dance is wonderful!
