2018 St. Barnabas Day and Service Sunday
This year for our feast day celebration on Sunday, June 10th, we did things a little differently at St. Barnabas, Arroyo Grande. Following the model that was shared with us at our last diocesan convention by St. Jude’s, Cupertino, we turned our Sunday worship time into an opportunity to participate in service projects. 2018 Saint Barnabas Lecture Series on Faith
THE ST. BARNABAS’ LECTURE SERIES features presentations by academics who use their expertise to offer informative, thought-provoking talks on issues and problems that are of interest to reflective Christians but which are usually not addressed in typical church services. Beginning in 2013, the series has provided audiences with lectures on subjects such as Islam and Christianity, the rationality of Christian belief, the problem of evil, Kierkegaard on faith, the problem of divine hiddenness, the early Christians’ understanding of Jesus, spiritual experience and disciplines, and biblical spirituality.…
