Canterbury Shire Updates
Summer is here, and The Shire remains open through these summer months. We have modified our schedule a bit to include a requested Universal 12-step meeting (one that encompasses all the 12-step groups) on Wednesday evenings at 5:30pm, for anyone who is interested. Otherwise, we are continuing with our weekly Wednesday meetings at 6:30pm, and offering meditation in the Library at 7:30pm.
On the horizon, we are planning to hold a Canterbury chili cook-off fundraiser on Sunday, Oct. 4th, at St. Stephen’s in SLO, in place the tri-tip barbecue we have held the past several years at St. Peter’s in Morro Bay. We are hoping that each deanery parish will participate and enter their team’s best chili (meat or vegetarian) in the cook-off, as well as contribute to the silent auction and IPad raffle which have been so popular over the past several years. If you can donate to our silent auction, that would be wonderful, and if you have ideas as to where we might obtain items for it, please let me know asap.
